President Robert Bugbee installs the members of LCC’s Board of Directors
KITCHENER, Ont.- At its first meeting since the convention, LCC’s Board of Directors tackled two resolutions which called for the formation of Task Forces—one to provide a framework for creating cost-efficient seminary education, the other to assess the future direction of LCC’s archives and cultural properties programs. The board discussed the general composition of these two working groups and asked the president and board chairman to recommend appointments to the seminary task force and board member Larry Lutz (Bethel, Sherwood Park, Alta.) to work with the president on appointments to the archival task force. Mr. Lutz is chairman of the board’s Committee on Cultural Properties and Archives.
Members re-elected Randy Stefan (Grace, Regina) as chair and elected Rev. Daryl Solie (Prince of Peace, Regina) vice-chair. Rev. Dennis Putzman (emeritus) continues as secretary and Dwayne Cleave was appointed treasurer. The board also made appointments to the Committee on Mission and Social Ministry Services, the Committee for Communication and Technology; the Committee on Cultural Property and Archives and its own executive, finance and personnel committees.
“We have a significant agenda for the next three years,” observed chairman Randy Stefan. “Convention actions and ongoing financial issues will need the Lord’s wisdom and guidance as we meet over the next three years.”
LCC bylaws call for the board to meet three times each year. March and a fall meeting are face-to-face and the June meeting is usually a telephone conference call.
