Lutheran Church–Canada’s eighth convention in Winnipeg, June 5-9, 2008 will include essayist, Dr. Gene Veith. He is executive director of the Cranach Institute at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind. The Cranach Institute is the seminary’s research and educational arm devoted to working out the implications of the Lutheran doctrine of vocation and engaging contemporary culture with the truths of the Lutheran confessions. He is also the Culture editor of WORLD Magazine (www.worldmag.com). Dr. Veith is the author of 14 books and is a keen observer of 21st century culture.
In addition to conducting church business and elections, the convention will offer workshops and seminars to equip delegates for service and outreach in their communities.
Convention attendance is not limited to elected delegates. Registered visitors can receive convention handouts and participate in workshops and seminars.
