The Nicaragua Mission Centre of Lutheran Church-Canada is intended to be a resource for education and mission work throughout Central America. The Mission Centre itself was dedicated in March 2007. Since that time, three dormitories (each with the potential to house eight students), a facility housing the Sewing School (also used as a classroom), and a chapel have been built. One of the dormitories has now been renovated and is being used to house the Medical/Dental Clinic.
A fourth dormitory was begun in 2008, but to date has not been completed. This project application requests a grant to complete the dormitory so that it can be used to house students and guests at the mission centre.
Lutheran Church-Canada Missions requests a grant of $6,760 USD to complete the dormitory. This will cover sealing the roof, purchasing windows, painting, bathroom fixtures, electrical installation, and bathroom doors.
While some of this work will need to be done by local tradesmen, it is possible that a volunteer team could assist in completing some of the tasks.
Total: $6,760 USD
Electrical System: $1,950
Glass Shutters: $1,020
Bathroom doors: $740
